TREACHERY AT THE TREASURY ?

‘Energygate: James Delingpole and The Tory plot against renewable energy in the UK ‘ - is the headline to 350.org publication of filmed interviews with members of the UK Conservative party – see http://350orbust.com/2012/11/15/11229/

This disclosure of the plotting, by numerous members of the Conservative party, to undermine the legally binding obligations of the Climate Change Act 2008, appears to be in support of treasury policy to default on measures to ensure the defence of the realm against the environmental damage from failure to reduce global warming gas emissions, and energy security consequences of dependence on depleting imported fossil fuels supplies.

The implications are that the UK government will cease to lead the way towards a sustainable future, abandon support for the sustainable industries of the future and subvert the country to dependence on those countries supplying fossil fuels, many of them hostile to the UK.

The Climate Change Act 2008 specifically holds the Secretary of State and his ministers responsible for achieving 80% reduction in global warming emissions by 2050, which should also ensure sustainable reliance on free ambient energy resources and permanent independence in energy supplies. The treasury appears to be setting out to undermine those objectives. Is this not both illegal and treacherous ?
